MudTug

Mud Tug

RIT's Phi Kappa Psi and Zeta Tau Alpha have hosted one of the biggest and messiest events of the year, Mud Tug, since 1996. Mud Tug is a tug of war tournament that takes place over giant pits of mud with the losing team being pulled into the mud. As a philanthropic event, the proceeds from registering all go to charity. In the past, over $10,000 has been raised for deserving organizations in the Rochester area.

After our chapter broke the Guinness World Record for the Largest Game of Dodge Ball in 2011, we set out to break another record with Mud Tug. In 2012, a record of 1,574 people participated in the event giving us the larges tug of war game at the time. Please join us on September 19, 2015 for the 20th anniversary of Mud Tug. It's going to be the biggest yet! Check out Our Facebook page for the event, like us below, and follow the event on Twitter!

Winter Warrior
Winter Warrior

One of RIT's newest events it Winter Warrior. Phi Kappa Psi teamed up with the brothers of Sigma Chi to create this 9-part obstacle course that tests the endurance, athleticism, and teamwork of the students of RIT. This event takes place during RIT's annual FreezeFest Weekend and benefits the Veterans Outreach Center in Rochester.

Teams consist of two people and compete to see who completes the challenging course the fastest. Obstacles include a trench crawl, a hurdle jump, wind sprints, burpees, a snowball toss, a sled race, a farmer’s walk, a three-legged race, and concluding in the running of a Snow-K. Boys and Girls Club
Boys and Girls Club

Phi Kappa Psi has been partnered with the national philanthropic organization the Boys and Girls Clubs of America since July 2004. The Boys and Girls club has been enabling the youth of the United States to do great things with their lives for over 100 years by providing guidance and support. They have helped children within the ages of 6 to 18 create success stories all over the country by providing a place where hope and opportunity meet. Each of us have the power to shape a young life. Phi Kappa Psi New York Theta is a proud supporter of the Boys and Girls Club of Rochester.
